This morning I went by boat to Cape Arundel in Kennebunkport to watch the morning flight of Cormorants etc. I was rewarded with more species diversity than I was expecting, as well as good numbers of seabirds. Highlights were a Merlin, a Red-necked Grebe, and 1 White-winged and 2 FOF Black Scoters. Also, a total of 45 Snowy and Great Egrets left their roosting location behind Walker Point and headed over the point. I also had at least one Fish Crow. The full list is at http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/email?subID=S15008049
-- Also, I had single Baird's and White-rumped Sandpipers and a Peregrine at Stage Harbor in Cape Porpoise yesterday. Full list is at http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15002973 . The islands have great potential for passerines this time of year (I haven't been able to get over there in the early morning), but be warned that stinging nettle has invaded many areas - I'd say it's worse than the poison ivy!
Good Birding!
