For the third night in a couple of weeks we have heard and seen (from afar) small groups of Sandhill Cranes staying overnight in the marsh south of the Lower Bay of Kezar Lake in Lovell. They arrive around 5 or 6 pm and leave before dawn making lots of noise. Very exciting. Last spring, we saw only one crane feeding in Saco Valley (McNeill Rd in North Fryeburg) on its way north.
