[Maine-birds] 6-4-14 / Parmachenee Lake / 57 Species, incl. 14 Warbler Species / Empid Sweep.

Folks,

...had the good fortune to fish and bird the Parmachenee Lake area for a couple days earlier this week.  There was good diversity of the predictable species, but it was a pleasant  surprise to encounter 3 Willow Flycatchers on territory.  Per e-bird, it's not unheard of to find this species in the Rangeley region, but never the less their song immediately facilitated a double take to confirm.  Interestingly within a short distance of travelling into the Moose Brook wetland complex I encountered the three other expected empidonax flycatchers (Least, Alder, and Yellow-bellied).  Fun times, though choosing flies over binoculars was a tough decision :)~

Good Birds,
Chris
