Sunday 9/14
On 9/13 we had our first large flock of subadult male Common Eiders show up in Frenchman Bay. We have had more hatching year birds than the past couple of years and almost no adult males since early August.
Common Loon numbers are increasing daily in all areas of the bay.
There has been a steady movement of individual Kingfishers daily over the past week.
A hummingbird passed over the boat on 9/13 and there is one at my feeder in Bar Harbor as of today 9/14.
The majority of Black Guillemots are in winter plumage as of this date.
Four Black Scoters were at Egg Rock at the mouth of the bay on 9/12.
Vee's of 10-20 Canada Geese are also passing down the coast this past week.
