[Maine-birds] A good show at the Addison Marsh salt pans

We made a stop at the Addison Marsh salt pans and found a good variety of shorebirds: 19 Lesser Yellowlegs, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 3 Semi-palmated Sandpipers, 3 Pectoral Sandpipers and 2 Stilt Sandpipers.  A Snowy Egret flew in while we were looking at the shorebirds - our first for the Addison Marshes.   A male Northern Harrier floated by and several Savannah Sparrows were foraging along the edges of the pools.

Back in Harrington on Flat Bay we saw several hundred peeps and plovers out on the mudflat - suddenly ALL the birds took flight and a Merlin swept into sight flying just above the mudflats!!!

Always something to see!!
