[Maine-birds] Popham - early evening

There are still many peeps using Popham beach at High Tide, but the masses of humanoids have resulted in their using the offshore rocks for loafing, instead of the wrack line on New Sand Island.

A total of 650 peeps were swirling around, trying to settle down somewhere, and one group of about 100 Semi Sands settled near wrack along the edge of the Morse River. The group also included 5 White-rumps, 4 Sanderlings, 1 Least Sand, and a FOS Dunlin.

A group of BBPlovers covered Low Tide Rock.

The only Semi Plovers were in a scattered group huddled in footprints near the East end of the Lagoon. These have decreased in number recently.

Only a few Com Terns in evidence. Because of low sun angle, only those on the Seawall Side can scan the gulls for the reported LessBack.
