[Maine-birds] Sandy Point Morning Flight, 9/15 - Prothonotary Warbler

 Hi all,

A disappointingly light flight passed over and through Sandy Point Beach, Cousin's Island, Yarmouth this morning.

Of course, any complaints about the light flight were alleviated by the PROTHONOTARY WARBLER that visited the point. Two earlier, tantalizing but frustratingly brief views of bright yellow bird uttering an unfamiliar call note were bugging me until the bird's third visit to the "Magic Elm." I had a brief, diagnostic look just as it departed the tree and headed into shrubs along the path to the water. I alerted Becky Marvil, et al, who soon spotted the bird. I raced down from the bridge and managed two horrific, but diagnostic, photos. This was my second record of PROW at Sandy Point, the first way back in 2006.  Photos here: https://www.facebook.com/Freeportwildbird.
