[Maine-birds] Shore birds at Wells Beach/Laudholm

My wife and I headed to Laudholm Farm in Wells at low tide today to see what kind of shore birds were there. As has been the case at Weskeag Marsh in S. Thomaston in recent weeks, there were very few to be had. On a half mile of beach all we could find were 2 Least Sandpipers, 14 Semipalmated Sands, half a dozen Sanderlings, and about 8 Semipalmated Plovers. I counted 7 Least Terns, 3 of them juveniles, which is a bit late for them. All but one of these birds were at the mouth of the Little River.

We are going to Plum Island tomorrow and will be able to assess the shorebird population in Newburyport Harbor. Anyone else want to chime in about shore bird numbers?
