Hey Maine-birders:
I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of Maine Audubon's upcoming pelagic trip out of Bar Harbor on Saturday, September 20th. Aboard the Friendship V, we will head out to various ledges and towards the mouth of the Bay of Fundy in search of shearwaters, storm-petrels, phalaropes, jaegers, (dare I say the s-word?), and more! Details can be found at: http://maineaudubon.org/events/bar-harbor-pelagic-trip-3/
To get us all prepared and ready to identify these pelagic species, Louis Bevier will present a 'pelagic primer' on Tuesday, September 16th, at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth. Even if you can't attend the trip, this will be a worthwhile presentation for anyone interested in these birds. More information is available at: http://maineaudubon.org/events/pelagic-primer/
Good birding,
Doug Hitchcox
