This morning's effort at Schoodic Point SeaWatch was rewarded with very good numbers of surf and white-winged scoters.
Cormorant flocks and many single common loons seen as well.
Gannets were milling about and actively diving more than purely migrating today. Twenty to forty could be counted each scanning sweep (with scope).
A group of 6 high flying vocal great blue herons was a bit of an oddity.
A fixed point vigil at a seascape is a great way to hone your birds in flight skills.
A chap from the UK saw his first Bald Eagle and kept calling out "there's another great northern diver".....
Cheerio.
