[Maine-birds] possible injured loon

Hi, a couple/few days ago someone posted about a loon that had lost some belly feathers and was spending time out of the water.

I can't relocate the post to reply to it, but it has occurred to me that the bird might be suffering from the loss of insulation, and is trying to avoid the cold water. If so, it is obviously in trouble given the season. I hope someone informed takes an interest in this bird.
