While driving north on 295 in Falmouth on Sunday (March 8th) afternoon (2:30), I spotted a tan winged, heavy-bodied dove flying just before the Lunt Rd overpass. Given that I was driving on the 65+ mph on the interstate, I did not get a good enough look to know definitively what species of bird I saw. I'm certain, however, that what I saw was not a rock pigeon or mourning dove. I assumed that what I saw was an escaped domestic dove.
-- I had it suggested to me that what I saw may have been a Eurasian Collared Dove as they have been sighted in Falmouth fairly recently.
If you're in the area, just keep your eyes open!
