[Maine-birds] Red-bellied woodpecker, N. flicker Rusty blackbird in Augusta

Hi folks,

I was tipped off about a Red-bellied woodpecker along West State Street in Augusta on the river side of the road just south of Sam's Pizza (on the non-river side).  I found the bird along Riverton Street which is located between Chases Barber Shop (north side) and the Allstate sign on the south side of Riverton Street.  Riverton is the first street south of Sam's Pizza.

The bird was sporadically vocalizing, only giving their loud 'churr-churr-churrr' vocalization twice.  It gave an assortment of other call notes from the woods at the end of the road and from behind the houses on the south side of the road.

Yesterday I had my yard FOY northern flicker, rusty blackbird (vocalizing from the trees above our feeders) and several red-winged blackbirds in a separate group. The blackbirds looked like they were passing through as each group did not stay long.

Good birding from Augusta.
