[Maine-birds] MDI Sandhill Crane, Snow Goose, Gadwall

Thank you to Bill Townsend for calling this morning to report a Sandhill Crane. I went to the wetland at the end of Schooner Head Road in Acadia National Park and after looking and waiting about 15 minutes, my efforts paid off. I spent another ten minutes watching it and taking photos.

From there, I continued on to walk the dog. In the back pond behind the Sand Beach barrier dune, a lone Gadwall was mixed in with the American Black Ducks.

Then, on the way home, on a little pond near Northeast Creek, a Snow Goose (likely the one I reported two days ago) was thinking it was one of the Canada Geese it was hanging out with.
