Although I'm sure others must have photographed the ruff today, here's a morning photo around 9 am. Spotted at 7 am, the ruff hung out with several yellowlegs, seeming to follow them as they periodically shifted locations. The bird remained present through 2 pm today, granting good open views as it foraged in the grassy margins of the front pool areas. About 20(?) years ago at Weskeag, Mark Libby and I had a ruff land within several feet of us. That bird was a young male, lacking the dramatic coloration of the current specimen.
