I can find very little info on wild turkey behavior. Often I have a lone one hanging around, and I can't tell if it is a female or an immature male. This has happened other years, too. I thought they always traveled in groups. Any explanations?
This year's specimen entertained us for a long time yesterday taking a bath in wood ashes. Was finally flushed by a dog and made a huge ash plume as it flew for the trees.
