Here are some bird happenings from around York County:

5/4 (Wednesday)
...4 Upland Sandpipers together in flight at Kennebunk Plains
...Green Heron (FOY), 2 Virginia Rails (FOY), 2 Least Sandpipers (FOY), Chimney Swift (FOY), Bank Swallow (FOY), Cliff Swallow (FOY) and much more at the Sanford Lagoons [full report with some photos here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S29402421]

5/6 (Friday)
...House Wren (FOY) at Southpoint Sanctuary (7th St.), Biddeford Pool
...Red-necked Grebe and 10 Black Guillemot at East Point Sanctuary, Biddeford Pool
...2 Gadwall, 15 Black-bellied Plovers, 3 Willet, 8 Ruddy Turnstones, and 8 Dunlin in "the pool", viewed from the park on Yates St., Biddeford Pool
...53 Glossy Ibis (flyover flock) at Timber Point, Biddeford
...148 (!) Glossy Ibis in field near Ever After Mustang Rescue on West St., Biddeford
...175+ Double-crested Cormorants (with lesser numbers of Great Black-backed Gulls, Herring Gulls, and Common Eiders) at nesting colony on Bumpkin Island, Kennebunkport
