[Maine-birds] Loons on Great Pond, Belgrade

Walked the pups at Camp Bomazeen, on Great Pond in North Belgrade tonight (like I do 4 times a week).   

15 loons on the North bay side of Snake point, 4 really near with a juvenile   YES!

On the other side of Snake point at the Camp beach, 2 adult loons and another juvenile.  YES!  

Makes me very glad as in Mud Cove, Lily Bay, Moosehead, their has not been a successful chick to adult in lots of years with proof of nests every year except this one.  Sad to say, I suspect it is our resident eagle population, nicely fed entrails by the fishermen in Lily Bay ….. not their fault, they have not a clue.
