Final cruise down Frenchman Bay...Bar Harbor to Hinckley Yachts in Southwest Harbor. The end of six nice summer months of nature tours.
Common Loon 21, various plumages
Red-throated Loon, 2
Red-necked Grebe 13,
Gannet 6, working a school of fish off East Bunkers Ledge (Mackerel...we hove to and caught and released several)
Great Cormorant 2, on Schooner Head
Double-crested Cormorant, still common
Great Blue Heron, 1 perched in tree on Greenings Island
Common Eider, many in various age groups along entire route
Black Scoter 50+, several small flocks along route
White-winged Scoter 6 off mouth of Northeast Harbor
Bald Eagle 1, hatching year bird off Great Head in Acadia NP
Spotted Sandpiper 1, on Sol's Cliff in Bar Harbor
Herring, Ring-billed, Great Black-backed Gulls, common
Black Guillemot, common along entire route, all in winter plumage
