We spent an hour and a half or so last Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 1) walking the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, starting at the south end, from the parking lot at Oarweed/Perkins Cove. Delighted to see that Harlequin Ducks were back (~12 or so), along with all three kinds of Scoters, Long-tailed Ducks, Common Eiders, a couple of Red-throated Loons, one Common Loon, a single (!) Purple Sandpiper, and even one (possibly two) Gannet(s) thrown in for good measure. Of the Scoters, Blacks were by far the most abundant, but with good representation of White-winged and Surf.
