Last week a hawk killed one of our hens. Said hawk was not large enough to actually lift the hen. I witnessed the kill, retrieved the dead hen and watched the hawk on low limbs in back yard for several hours after. I think this hawk has been resident in our neighborhood without attacking hens until this past week. Question most likely sharpy or Coopers? Have not seen it since, do they migrate? Have noticed gray squirrel population also suddenly disappeared.
