Hi all -- I was stunned to find a close-range Black-and-White Warbler feeding in the seawrack line just north of Cable Crossing Road, in Manset (Southwest Harbor). This was about an hour ago. The bird seems tame.
-- The habitat on both the water and landward side of this bird are reminiscent of the Pond Cove location (Cape Elizabeth) where last winter's Orange-crowned Warbler hung on for so long. Wide, deep and spongy line of rotting seaweed (with insects visible), and behind the rocky shore a dense and extensive (impenetrable) area of marshy shrubbery.
