Visitors:
11 people visited the Hawkwatch today.

Weather:
After a pleasant start, an increasingly damp and raw southerly wind became chilling, chasing all of the observers and hikers off the mountain and mostly grounding migrants. The first drops and wet snow flakes arrived at 4:59EDT.

Raptor Observations:
A Red-shouldered Hawk was displaying actively over Little Bradbury once again, and presumed-local adult Bald Eagles were very active in the first half of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
29 species were seen or heard from the summit today. Species deemed migrating included: 100 mixed blackbird 37 Canada Geese 10 Brown-headed Cowbirds 9 American Robins 7 Purple Finches 6 European Starlings 6 Common Grackles 3 American Black Ducks 3 American Goldfinches

Predictions:
Tomorrow is one of those days where we hope it just rains steadily enough that Zane doesn't have to be up there dodging showers all day, with just enough visibility to keep hope alive. That being said, with winds forecast to turn southwest and temperatures to soar into the 50's in the afternoon, perhaps a longer break in the rain could produce a little pre-frontal flight - of something, if not raptors.
