Visitors:
15 people.
Weather:
I was quick to realize an oversight I made in my previous days prediction, for today's wind direction. Winds were strong and gusty, coming from the W for most of the day, not the SE I had planned for. Temperatures barely broke the freezing mark, but the sun helped brighten moral.
Raptor Observations:
A close Osprey, passing in front of the summit, was a nice treat for onlookers. The bird was not packing a lunch.
Non-raptor Observations:
Late morning, I was a little startled to see a Glossy Ibis appear from the NE, as it struggled through the wind on a southward heading. That bird was battling some serious turbulence.
Predictions:
Clouds will steadily increase tomorrow, ahead of some wet weather. Winds should be pushing up from the SW to start the day, and shift to S for the rest of the count period. Wind speeds may increase as the day goes on, maybe 10-15 mph. Temperatures should be in the mid 30's. Rain seems likely by early afternoon, which could put the breaks on for me and the birds. It is possible there will be some birds out ahead of the rain, in the morning.
