I spent three really glorious days on Monhegan this past weekend with my annual tour for our store group.
I'll post photos and a complete checklist on my blog, but for now, here are the highlights.
9/28:
Hardy Boat from New Harbor:
-1 Red Phalarope (FOY)
- 1 juv Lesser Black-backed Gull
Island:
1 CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
1 DICKCISSEL
9/29:
3 DICKCISSELS
2-3 White-breasted Nuthatches
2 Pine Warblers
1 Rusty Blackbird
5 Black Scoters (FOF)
9/30:
~100 presumed Atlantic White-sided Dolphins
1 CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
3 DICKCISSELS
1 Mourning Warbler
1 Prairie Warbler
Baltimore Oriole flock now up to 14 birds
2 Ring-necked Pheasants
1 Killdeer (a great bird "on the ground" out here).
