Maine Bird Atlas enthusiasts:
We have set up an informal gathering of Maine Bird Atlas enthusiasts, and it will take place at Mason's Brewing Company (https://masonsbrewingcompany.com/masons-brewing-company/) in Brewer (15 Hardy Street) on Saturday, October 6th at 5 PM. This gathering is open to anyone at any skill level who is interested in birds. Mason's has some picnic tables outside facing the Penobscot River, so current thinking is to gather out on the picnic tables (at least for the start), so dress accordingly. Mason's has some good food and drink, and any purchases are up to individual participants.
So what is the Maine Bird Atlas 'Birds and Brews'? It is a low key event where you can gather with other bird-minded people of all skill levels who are interested in the Maine Bird Atlas. Consider sitting next to someone who you don't know and ask lots of questions about the Maine Bird Atlas, Maine birds, where to find particular birds, bird feeding tips, setting up nest boxes, photographing tips, recent trips, or whatever. The event is informal and there is no agenda except for gathering together and enjoying each others company and hearing stories and learning from each other about Maine Birds.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone and hearing stories about how the summer atlasing went.
FYI, there will be another Birds and Brews event in southern Maine later this month, with the date and location to be determined.
