At dead low tide this early A.M., the mudflats of Atkins Bay were pretty quiet. A clicker-count of 52 BBPlovers included a solo Am Golden Plover, not the same bird as was at Popham Beach few days ago. That was about it! A small smattering of peeps.
On the way home, stopped in the rain and scoped ca 349 Juvie Semipalmated Sandpipers and 1 White-rumped Sand along the muddy edges of Drummore Bay (Phippsburg). I have to conclude that most birds that overnighted on the New Sand Island (Popham Beach) scooted directly up the Kennebec, without pausing in Atkins Bay.
