Comments: Shahanezali and Becky for a mid-morning along the northern portion of Mount Desert Island. On Hadley Point we found gusting northeasterly winds great Canadian migrants while on the Blue Hill Bay side a good Northwesterly wind was blowing in our face as we looked at a couple hundred Ring-billed and some Herring Gull resting and avoiding the two adult Bald Eagles we just saw fly over Rt.3. These gusting winds are perfect for many types of birds and create morning like we had today. Blue Sky and wafting winds from the north. Overall its pretty clear from this mornings count that another large mixed flock movement flew over MDI dropping down in some locations like Lakewood. Here I phished many wonderful birds that allowed us to work on Warblers, Vireos, Woodpeckers of beginner birders.

Comments: Shahanezali and Becky for a mid-morning along the northern portion of Mount Desert Island. This old growth forest has a rich history in Native American lore and has always produced an array of avian species and being a source of inspiration for many birders like Sha this morning when a 40-50 mixed species flock responded wonderfully to my phishing, sometimes landing only feet away on Balsum Fir branches. Black-throated Green Warbler took the show and lit up all our faces. My phishing technique has been perfected over many years in the field in different parts of the world an workes effectively for inclusive surveys of the multiple habitats we check everyday since 1993. This flock descended on us like water, dripping from the trees tumbling from branch to branch only a yard away.
