A large gathering of feeding Com Terns in mid-channel at the mouth of the Kennebec River this morning, also included a single Black Tern. I was there trying to get out of the wind, and only had to contend with some extreme sun-glare.
I returned later, and the tern flock had moved over to the shoreline of Stage Island, leaving a few in the channel. A solo Roseate Tern flew by at eye level, and continued into Atkins Bay. --
