It’s a day earlier than usual, but my weekly Bangor Daily News column is already on the BDN web site: http://bangordailynews.com/2013/10/17/outdoors/creepers-the-perfect-bird-for-halloween/. I figured a column on creepy creepers would be good fodder for pre-Halloween.
But mostly, I’d like to thank all those who volunteered photos for the column. I received some great photos of Brown Creepers, and the BDN chose an offering from Francesco Ticozzi. This particular Brown Creeper was the star of the show a couple of weeks ago while Doug Hitchcox was leading the Gilsland Farm walk on Thursday morning. No less than three people sent me photos of that particular bird! And all the photos were great.
