[Maine-birds] Gilsland Farm Birdwalk

The birdwalk this morning at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth provided great diversity and a few new arrivals, including:

An apparent increase in geese flying over to the 'goose fields' in Yarmouth/Falmouth/Cumberland. Seems like prime time for a Pink-footed Goose. Despite the frequent gun shots, we did see our first Bufflehead of the fall and I got to add Ring-necked Duck to my patch list with a pair flying up river.

In the North Meadow, a 'Western' Palm Warbler has joined the small troop of 'Eastern' or 'Yellow' Palm Warblers that have been present around the wet swale near the edge of the river. We were also treated to 4-6 Rusty Blackbirds, first found calling from the tree tops in the West Meadow and later two were seen flying overhead while in the North Meadow.

Here is a complete checklist from the walk: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15441432

Good birding,
