York County

Three LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS of various ages were found around Biddeford Pool on the 4th.

Greater Portland

On the 29th, a MARBLED GODWIT and a HUDSONIAN GODWIT were present on the flats off the Pine Point Lobster Co Op in Scarborough. A 'WESTERN' WILLET also continues to be seen here.

A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was banded at the River Point Conservation Area in West Falmouth on the 2nd.

Highlights from Sandy Point Beach at Cousin's Island in Yarmouth on the 4th included a single BLACK SKIMMER and a DICKCISSEL.

Midcoast

On the 2nd, a WILSON'S PHALAROPE was reported from Stover Point Marsh in Harpswell.

An 'INTERIOR' NELSON'S SPARROW was photographed at Pott's Point in Harpswell on September 30th.

A late report of a MEW GULL, possibly the same bird that was in Thomaston from August 3rd through the 29th, came from Harbor Island in Muscongus Bay on September 24th.

A BLACK-HEADED GULL was photographed at Green Point on Atkins Bay on the morning of October 1st.

While CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS, LARK SPARROWS, DICKCISSELS, and BLUE GROSBEAKS were reported from Monhegan Island this week, the highlight was a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE seen on the 2nd. A long-staying immature YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was still present as of September 29th.

Penobscot Bay

A NORTHERN WHEATEAR was reported from Pleasant Island in Muscle Ridge Channel on the 28th.

Central Maine

Birders visiting the west side of Baxter State Park on the 28th found both AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER and BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER along a skidder trail.

Downeast

An adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was found on the seaward side of Schooner Head in Bar Harbor on the 28th.

The Seawall Campground in Acadia National Park hosted a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW on the morning of the 3rd.

Northern Maine

On the 29th, a ROSS'S GOOSE was found with about 1,600 CANADA GEESE at a pond located on Limestone Stream just northeast of the intersection of Route 1A and Route 89. The bird was still being reported here as of October 3rd.
