I suppose not all of these reports have to be "Highlights". Yesterday, I walked 3.35 miles in 2.5 hours, utilizing road beds, fields, edges, etc. in New Gloucester, and found a grand total of 90 birds (of 23 species). This habitat is usually teeming with birds, (and a good spot to look for rarities) and I guess the message is that there are days like this sometimes. Almost as if the night before was a perfect one to leave for points south, and they all did.
Consider this: Zero Flickers; ONE Myrtle Warbler; Zero other warblers; Zero Vireos; and the negative list goes on. It could all change in a couple of days. --
