Thank goodness for Carl and Florence Alessi and their great Northern Hawk Owl find.
-- As others, who had come earlier, drifted south, I was left to find the bird by myself...well hardly, because also cruising the area for the little bugger was Florence Alessi, herself..a very generous person who directed me to a nearby Walmart for an SD card because I'd failed to return one to my camera..Duh!
We would periodically meet and compare notes, but alas (yes, alas) I was running out of time and soon had to head south, when out of nowhere, roaring back up the access road came Florence with news she had found the bird on a wire across from the church near the junction of Route 2 and the I 95/Lincoln Access Rd. ..Hal-Ah-Loo-Yah
.......and now you know the rest of the story.
Double God Bless Florence Alessi
