[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week and Shorebird High Counts, 9/7-12

Just two tidbits in addition to what I have previously posted:

- 4 adult SANDHILL CRANES, Mayall Rd, Gray/New Gloucester, 9/11. 

- 1 American Pipit (first of fall), Back Cove, Portland, 9/12.

And my shorebird high counts this week were as follows (great diversity and solid, seasonable numbers):

Black-bellied Plover: ~100, The Pool, Biddeford, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER:2 adults, Biddeford Pool Beach, Biddeford, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Semipalmated Plover: ~100, Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Killdeer: 1, Isle of Shoals on NH Audubon Pelagic, 9/8.

AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER: 4 (continuing family group), Hill's Beach, Biddeford, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Greater Yellowlegs: 28, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 9/10.

Lesser Yellowlegs: 23, Wharton Point, 9/10.

Spotted Sandpiper: 1, several locations.

Whimbrel: 6, The Pool, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Ruddy Turnstone: 10, Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Red Knot: 12, The Pool, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist), plus 5 juv., Wharton Point, 9/10.

Sanderling: 77, Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Semipalmated Sandpiper: 450+, The Pool, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

WESTERN SANDPIPER: 1 possibly continuing juvenile, Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Least Sandpiper: 125, Eastern Rd, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

White-rumped Sandpiper: 14 adults, Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

BAIRD'S SANDPIPER: 1 juv, Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Pectoral Sandpiper: 1, Eastern Rd, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Dunlin: 2 juveniles (FOY), Biddeford Pool Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

STILT SANDPIPER: 4 juveniles, Eastern Rd, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER: 1, Hill's Beach, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

Short-billed Dowitcher: 15, Eastern Rd, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).

HENDERSONII SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER: 1 adult, Eastern Rd, 9/7 (with Kristen Lindquist).
