[Maine-birds] Big Sit, Wharton Point, Sunday

Bufflehead 1 Adult male (diving) with eiders and scoters some distance offshore.

WILSON'S STORM-PETTEL 1 First observed flying (swallow-like flight) low along the shoreline about 50 yards in front of the Big Sit! circle. The bird then wheeled around and turned to fly inland directly over the Big Sit! circle (observed by 5 birders present). The bird then gained altitude and flew northeast out of sight over the tree line. Other than the obvious white wraparound rump, the bird appeared generally sooty black (especially from below). The tail did not appear notched. Photos taken.
