Hello Maine birders,
Margaret Viens, a very active and engaged Maine birder, will be a tremendous addition to the Maine bird records committee, and Becky Marvil, who has dedicated a very large part of her recent life, to the incredible success of the Acadia Birding Festival, is a the the perfect person to assume the role of Secretary, of the Maine Birds Record Committee. Two exceptional people, and dedicated birders.
Congrats to Margaret and Becky.

The Maine Bird Records Committee held its annual meeting this past weekend, and we are pleased to announce that Margaret Viens was elected as a new committee member, and Louis Bevier and Luke Seitz were re-elected for second terms. We are equally pleased to announce the election of Becky Marvil as the committee's new Secretary. Becky is, among other things, the organizer of the very popular and successful Acadia Birding Festival, and we are excited that she will be lending her talents in the service of the documentation of Maine rare bird records!

Reports summarizing records reviewed by the committee are published in Bird Observer, and PDFs of past reports are available on the website. The site also contains PDFs or links to a variety of important Maine ornithological literature sources. Check it out!
