Visitors:
18 people visited the hawkwatch. Thank you to all visitors and observers who helped with the count, shared stories, brought delicious food, and shared in the joy of watching these beautiful birds. Your help, interest, and generosity is so appreciated and important!

Weather:
The morning started off with overcast skies and excellent visibility. A few showers came in during the late morning and early afternoon, with light and variable winds often from the west. When the showers cleared out visibility was amazing once again, and perhaps better than any other day this season. Temperatures were mostly in the fifties, and skies remained overcast.

Raptor Observations:
Some immature broad-wings were moving through today, along with a little push of immature Bald Eagle migration. Migration occurred in small waves, with lulls during the periods of drizzle. Despite a little rain, it was a good end to an excellent season. Many birds were distant, but we had a few close looks at beautiful Broad-winged Hawks, Osprey, and Bald Eagles flying over the summit.

Non-raptor Observations:
One of the male Blackburnian Warblers was hopping around in a juniper again today, which was such a nice treat. A Barred Owl called a few times. 38 bird species were observed.

Species deemed migrating:
11 Canada Geese
7 Chimney Swifts
3 Double-crested Cormorants
2 Common Loons
2 Tree Swallows
1 American Robin
1 Barn Swallow
1 warbler sp.

Predictions:
Today was the last day of the 2016 hawkwatch season on Bradbury Mountain. Thank you to Freeport Wild Bird Supply and Leica Sport Optics for sponsoring the project this year! It was an amazing opportunity to use such high quality optics. Also, thank you to Bradbury Mountain State Park for hosting the project. It was a truly unforgettable season. Some raptors will still be moving through into June, and we encourage you to keep an eye out for migrants, especially on warm days with light southwest winds.
