Nobody has mentioned Taylor Bait Farm in Orono for quite a while. There are at least 80 hooded mergansers splitting time between the first and second pond, all females and juveniles.
No shortage of hermit thrushes or blue-headed vireos in the woods there, either. Several of each.
Ruby-crowned kinglets, white-throated sparrows, and juncos are on the move. Yellow-rumped warblers are seemingly everywhere.
