[Maine-birds] Red-tailed hawks.

Just a small curiosity piece here.

Drove from New London, Connecticut to Freeport, Maine on Sunday, December 11. This included interstates 395, 495, and 95. My wife and I counted 44 Red-tailed hawks, many but not all of these perched low in scattered trees in open areas of the median strip. I'm reporting this because we count the hawks every time we make this trip,  which is reasonably often, and the previous record was only 19. Nice to see the birds doing so well.
