Thanks to Joel & Sandy Wilcox for a great post on Sanford WTP, and for
confirming the great numbers of Ruddy Ducks and Ring-necked Ducks at
this Birding area.
I would like to add a few notable sightings to this list.
I was surprised to see 2 No. Pintails here with Mallards, and 1 Wood
Duck.
Also flushed an American Coot from the cattails at the edge of one of
the ponds.
2 female Common Mergansers seen twice here late in afternoon.
2 Semipalmated Sandpipers hiding in with roosting Green winged Teal!
Not easy to count all the Ducks but had 5 Buffleheads (2 males, 3
females)
Actually had a great day despite the wind seeing uncommon Butterflies
and some uncommon Dragonflies.
Sanford WTP is starting to get really good !!!
