[Maine-birds] MDI area wildlife today: N. Shrike, P-b Grebe, and two other vertebrates

Hi all -- Seawall Picnic area, ponds, and road walk (102A) yielded the list here: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?shva=1#inbox/13aa9130dd50b97b

which included 12 N. Gannets, a Pied-billed Grebe in the Seawall Ponds, and a N. Shrike in the small meadow across from the Seawall Residence.

Other wildlife today:
  • Long-tailed Weasel sprinting across the highway in Trenton (Rte 1A), which is truly a death-defying act.

  • Ring-necked Snake (fairly certain ID, happy to send a photo to anyone who can help), just barely on the asphalt of the Seawall Road, near the Ranger's residence. Basking?

Cheers,

Craig K
