[Maine-birds] Fox Sparrow Biddeford

Finally found a Fox Sparrow today, thrashing around in the leaves near my house.

Also got to see the Sephalophorus hummingbird on Hills Beach, thanks Pat for letting everyone hang out waiting for the bird! I got some video of it, but I'm not sure it shows the tail pattern very well. The belief seems to be that it looks good for Broad-tailed, but we shall see. It seemed a bit small to me, but size can be hard to judge on a lone bird, and it sure didn't have much rufous on it, just a bit on the tail and sides.

Also, I've been noticing lots of Red Bats lately. 3 on Wednesday, 8 yesterday and 3 today, all just around the hour before dark.

First Long-tailed Ducks heading south yesterday at the East Point Sanctuary.

More White-winged Crossbills today, at UNE and on Hill's Beach.

Good Birding
