[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week and Goose Fields Update, 10/22-26

Hi all,
 
A few other observations of note from me in the past five days, in addition to what I have previously posted here, include:
- 1 adult MUTE SWAN, Legion Pond, Kittery, 10/23 (with Jeannette).
- 1 Northern Saw-whet Owl, Fort Foster, Kittery, 10/23 (with Jeannette).
- 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, 1 immature Northern Shrike, and 1 Red Bat, The Nubble neighborhood, Cape Neddick, 10/23 (with Jeannette).
- 2 COMMON REDPOLLS (very early) and 16 White-winged Crossbills, Old Town House Park, North Yarmouth, 10/24.
- 8 White-winged Crossbills, our yard in Pownal, 10/24.
- 1 Brown-headed Cowbird, 1 Red-winged Blackbird, and 62 Common Grackles, here at the store in Freeport, 10/26.
 
And the "goose fields" update this week:
- 1 adult GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE continues at Thornhurst Farm as recent as this afternoon (with Kenn and Kim Kaufman).
- Canada Goose numbers increased in the past three days, from a week's low of 601 on 10/24 among all fields to a high of 1062 among all fields today, with 966 of them at Thornhurst (with Kenn and Kim Kaufman).
- American Pipits continue to be regular in the fields, especially at Thornhurst through week's end.
