[Maine-birds] Re: sharpie takes starling - North Haven

If I had to choose, my fave would be similar to your favorite except it is a frontal view of him mantling. Is that a word? lol

As my husband got out of the truck after plowing this morning, he heard a strange sound coming from the shrub by the driveway. Close inspection revealed a Sharp-shinned hawk struggling with a Starling. I grabbed my camera (boots and jacket first!) and stomped out through the snow for a photo shoot. The hawk was not bothered by our presence but continued on it's quest for lunch.
