Just drove down River Road in Peru (a dead end road along the Androscoggin.) In and along the cornfields I observed a flock of 24 Am tree sparrows, then 30 snow buntings and wrapped up the 2-mile cruise with a larger group of (50+) redpolls. Also (not to be outdone) 25 turkeys and 10 crows getting the final calories out of the dried up cornstalks.

Also took a picture of part of the lead group and there were 50 birds in it, and the rest was 4 times larger or more.
