We had to postone our adventure North last weekend to find some recent sitings because of the snow. Does anyone know if any of these birds have been seen recently (this week). We plan on going tomorrow morning.
Birding trip Saturday, 2/23/13
FALMOUTH
1. Presumscott river. 95 thru Portland to exit 52 Falmouth. Route 9 south. Look
at atlas for boat landings. (Canvasbacks)
SCARBOROUGH
2. Prouts neck bird sanctuary: see map (king eider)
3. Scarborough marsh nature center rt 9 pine pt rd (gadwall)
SACO
4. Lund rd, Saco: 112 (north st) west out of Saco. Right on Lund rd before 95
overpass (shrike)
5. Water st Saco: rt 1 South. left on water st before going over Saco river
(Great cormorant)
BIDDEFORD
6. Biddeford pools: follow rt 9/208 east (snowy owl)
KENNEBUNK
7. Strawberry island: see atlas for road leading to mouth of mousam river @
parsons beach. ( take rt 9 south from Biddeford) (snowy owl)
WELLS
8. Furbish rd. take rt 9 to rt 1 south, left on furbish. (Nelson's sparrow)
9. Webhannet marsh. Rt 1 south to ? Drakes island road or harbor road
(killdeer)
