[Maine-birds] Brunswick Merlin

Brunswick, Maine Cumberland County downtown mall

Yesterday, while eating Danny's Hot Dogs (there really aren't any other hotdogs, let's face it) on the mall in Brunswick, a merlin was very active. The bird was very vocal while zipping across the north end of the mall to the church steeple on lower Pleasant st. Pigeons around did not seem especially concerned about this. Clear views of bird and lots of opportunity to practice my vocalization IDs with this one.
laughing gulls 2
Bald eagles 2, adults
Osprey 3

Free music on the mall, birds and hot dogs, ahhhhh, the way life should be. Now, if only I can figure out how to hold binocs with a 'dog in each hand at the same time.....like one of those harmonica holders that Bob Dylan uses.
