I saw a large group (at least 50 birds) of Scaup at the East End beach in Portland today both males and females not far from the shore. I saw them around noon, and they stayed close together in a large circle and most of them were sleeping. I could not tell if they were Lesser or Greater Scaup. Did anyone else see them and determine which they were?
