A mini-flock of Cackling Geese were present at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth this morning, as were a few Canada Geese. Trying to determine the Cackling's subspecies and leaning toward Richardson's, but I'm not really sure. Overall they looked "slim" and had very squared heads. I was fortunate to stand right above them on the trail as they were hugging the shoreline. No camera with me of course. Other waterfowl were limited to just Buffleheads and Black Ducks.
